Maytas Infra bags Godavari Drinking Water Supply Scheme from HMWSSB worth Rs. 169.50 crores

Hyderabad, 9 December 2008: IL&FS Engineering and Construction Company Limited, a Hyderabad based construction and infrastructure Development Company announced that the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) has entrusted the Company with the Godavari Drinking Water Supply Scheme project worth Rs. 169.50 crores. Maytas Infra would be executing the project in joint venture with Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and Kirloskar Brothers Ltd (KBL). The total value of the project is Rs. 809.62 crores and Maytas Infra’s share is 20% of the value i.e. Rs. 169.50 crores

The project will be executed in Kondapak and Ghanpur along Karimnagar Road near Hyderabad. The work entails transmission of 735 Mld treated Godavari water from Clear Water Reservoir (CWR) at Kondapak to Master Balancing Reservoirs (MBRs) at Ghanpur. This will be done for a length of 58 Km through pipeline with all civil, electrical and mechanical components and so on, complete (Package-III) under EPC system.

The scope of work of this contract involves:

  • Construction of Clear water Reservoir of 80 ML capacity at Kondapak.
  • Master Balancing Reservoir of 150 ML capacity at Ghanpur.
  • Electrical sub-station at Kondapak for the clear water pumping station including required transformers with 100% standby with associated appurtenances and power lines etc. SCADA, Telemetry and Communication System

Maytas Infra was earlier awarded a Rs. 44.88 crores contract for providing Water Supply Distribution System in Gajuwaka Area of Visakhapatnam district in Andhra Pradesh by Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC). The Godavari Drinking Water Supply Scheme is the second water supply contract for Maytas Infra in the year 2008.
